The DataMaxx Tuners Kit is a result of years of experience fine tuning not only our own race cars but plenty of our customers as well. This kit gives you what we feel is the most important aspects to turn your race car from a good one to a phenomenal one. Monitoring Engine, Driveshaft, Transbrake, Oil Pressure, Water Temp, Trans Temp, Shock Travel and then either Dual EGT probes or Dual Oxygen sensors. And with two additional channels left over, you can expand your system easily.

Engine & Driveshaft
One of the most important graphs you will look at, and one that will be used the most is the graph of the Engine and Driveshaft rpm. If there are inconsistencies in the run, this is where they will be exposed. By overlaying multiple runs you can truly see the difference changes make, or identify inconsistencies and try to improve them. There are plenty of times where the car can spin the tires at the hit and the driver not feel it, but it is noticed in the r/t and et of the run. With the ability to overlay you can make changes and then confirm you have a more consistent launch. If your transmission is not shifting into gear or your converter is wrong for your setup, you won’t be able to know for sure unless you are looking at a detailed Engine RPM graph. From launch rpm’s in footbrake cars to shift points to seeing how hard you played the finish line, the Engine and Driveshaft graph will be one of the most important and looked at.

Oil psi, Water temp & Trans temp
The first step in protecting your engine is ensuring that you have both oil psi and are not overheating the entire thing. These are the basics and seem like a no brainer but how many people with gauges know exactly how low their oil pressure gets at the top end? And you might have glanced at the water temp gauge and it was around where you want it but how high did it get waiting on the other guy to stage? You may know what the oil psi and water temp is, but you don’t have data that you can really utilize. With the oil psi sensor, not only can you make sure you have pressure at the top end but by having the data to compare easily you will realize that you can tell if your oil is getting old and thin based on the pressure. And with water and trans temp, by keeping track of the temperatures the instant of launching the car you can help identify why some runs are faster or slower, because of how hot the engine and trans is, and then Learn from it to make your program better.

Shock Travel
The difference between a good bracket car and a phenomenal one is the shock and chassis tuning. When we take the time to utilize the shock sensor data in conjunction with the driveshaft data to make adjustments, we have always made dramatic improvements to the consistency of the car. It may be slower with a certain shock setting, but if the shock data can overlay perfectly, then the your 60′ will be more consistent. If you have a scenario where the 60′ is on one of two different passes, then your chassis/shock setup is not happy and tuning this will result in a much more consistent race car.

Dual EGT or Dual Oxygen
With this kit you have the option between either dual exhaust gas temperature sensors or dual oxygen sensors. Either will do a great job of letting you know how the tune up is on either side of the engine. If you go with the EGT probes, you can easily purchase additional bungs and be able to move the sensor around until you locate the hottest cylinder. Once found, having the EGT sensor can help let you know if your problem cylinder needs to be addressed. The oxygen sensors will typically go into the collector and give you a very good overall left vs right side tuning information. In general, tuning off of the oxygen sensors has become the preferred method, however the ability to monitor certain problem cylinders has it’s advantages too. Either choice you make, you will get quality information on your lean vs rich mixture and will provide you the data you need to get your engine safe and happy.

DataMaxx Software
What is the point of having all of this data if you don’t ever use it? With the DataMaxx software program we make viewing your data as easy and user intuitive as possible. You have the ability to separate sensors into different zones so that you can highlight certain aspects and even save up to 5 custom views. The DataMaxx software will automatically zero your runs based on either transbrake or driveshaft movement and our Overlay 2 and Overlay All buttons allow you to quickly compare data at the push of a button. Made by racers for racers, the DataMaxx software allows you to Tune By Data, Not By ET Slip.

With the DataMaxx Engine Saver Kit you get everything you need to help tune and protect your engine. You can monitor Engine RPM, Driveshaft RPM, Transbrake, Oil psi, Water temp and 8 Exhaust Gas Temperatures. This allows you to know exactly what is happening inside that engine and if you are pushing it too hard. When we are looking at our data after our pass, the majority of it is spent looking at the Engine & Driveshaft lines and then the 8 EGT's, so with the Engine Saver Kit, you get everything you need to take your tuning to the next level with room to expand.
All 8 Exhaust Gas Temperature
If you are pushing your engine hard, running heads up or have fuel injection, you are crazy to not monitor each and every cylinder. The first benefit is trying to prevent catastrophic failures. Seeing a specific cylinder all of a sudden get hotter than it usually does is a clear indicator there is a problem and you need to investigate. If you are running mechanical fuel injection, the ability to fine tune the fuel system for each cylinder based on temperature leads to a much more harmonious and consistent engine. And if you are running heads up or pushing your tune up hard for qualifying, 8 EGT’s allows you to push hard without hurting anything and staying in the race.

The DataMaxx Jr. System was built by active junior dragster racers for junior drag racing and is the only NHRA, PDRA, WDRA & IHRA approved Jr. Dragster data logger on the market. We have spent years developing the DataMaxx Jr. Dragster Data Logger with Rowans Racing and used it to go to the 2021 PDRA Top Jr. Dragster World Championship.

The Launch Control screen was designed specifically for junior drag racing and allows us to zoom into your ideal launch rpm so we can actually see the needle moving. And with our target and range settings, you can set the ideal launch RPM for your junior and as long as the needle is in the green, you know you’re ready to race. With more consistent launch rpm’s and temperatures your juniors et consistency improves as well.

If you are not downloading your runs after each pass, you have zero clue what just happened on the run and cannot make the correct choices for the next round. These junior dragsters are using a clutch belt drivetrain that is slipping a variable amount nearly the entire time down the track, and this makes them a nightmare to keep consistent. Combine that with the occasional tire spin from poor track prep and there is a lot that can change from run to run.

The DataMaxx software was built specifically for drag racing and as such allows you to overlay more than two runs. In fact, we typically overlay an entire event’s worth of runs and print them for later reference. The DataMaxx software also allows you to easily turn the filter on and off meaning you can finally see true tire spin at the hit.

The DataMaxx Drag Racing Data Logger system is designed specifically for the racer that wants the best quality but doesn’t want to pay for features they will never use. The DataMaxx is a completely modular system allowing you to purchase the base Main Module and the typical sensors and then easily expand the system when your needs arise. All while staying more affordable than our competitors. This is the perfect drag racing data logging acquisition system for the sportsman or bracket drag racer, tractor pullers and street/strip cars. Race cars aren’t like your typical modern day car, there are no dummy warning lights or advanced computers monitoring everything to make sure you don’t blow up your engine. That is where the DataMaxx data logger comes in.

We give you the tools and the flexibility to customize your own dummy lights to ensure you don’t damage your expensive engine. And then the ability to view every detail of your pass on our user friendly software. If you are a bracket racer looking to fine tune your consistency, nothing will aide that endeavor more than being able to overlay runs on top of each other and identify reasons for picking up and slowing down. If you are a heads up racer, few products can optimize all of that expensive equipment and get you down the track faster than a DataMaxx Drag Racing Data Logger. And tractor pullers can quickly identify patterns to keep them moving down track.

There are a couple of predefined kits we have put together to make life easy on you. The Bracket Kit features water, fuel, oil and 1 EGT. The Sportsman Kit has fuel, oil and dual O2 sensors. The Professional Kit steps it up with fuel, oil, accel, boost or nitrous, 8 EGT’s and a Remote SD Card Reader. You can also add the LCD Dash Display to any of these kits now or anytime you’d like in the future. If you would like more sensors than what the existing kit has you can simply get the Analog Expansion Module and have room for 4 more sensors. All of the kits include the Main Module, engine RPM, driveshaft RPM, battery voltage, 2 switch monitors, 2 led light outputs, record switch, 2 sd cards, DataMaxx software, a comprehensive and easy to follow instruction manual and evening and weekend customer support that you can count on. If you have any questions feel free to call us anytime at 1-800-870-8383.

And then the ability to view every detail of your pass on our user friendly software. If you are a bracket racer looking to fine tune your consistency, nothing will aide that endeavor more than being able to overlay runs on top of each other and identify reasons for picking up and slowing down. If you are a heads up racer, few products can optimize all of that expensive equipment and get you down the track faster than a DataMaxx Professional Data Logger. And tractor pullers can quickly identify patterns to keep them moving down track.

There are a couple of predefined kits we have put together to make life easy on you. The Bracket Kit features water, fuel, oil and 1 EGT.
