Description

Introducing the new Quickdraw Drag Trigger, the best new invention in top bulb racing for 2024! This innovative new trigger utilizes a high quality switch inside a trigger mechanism that will feel like a high quality AR trigger. Simply arm the transbrake by cocking the arming lever and then pull the trigger to release. This simple action speeds up your reaction time if you are running full tree and will tighten up your tree consistency for bracket racing.

The Quickdraw Drag Trigger works by pushing up on the cocking lever to arm the transbrake. Once armed, all you have to do to release the transbrake is to pull the trigger. The process is simple, but will require a little practice to get used to after utilizing a push in transbrake style. We highly recommend the Lever Package Add On as it allows you to easily customize the length and width of the cocking lever. As they are raw aluminum, you can also easily grind down to customize the length even further if desired. Typically you want the cocking lever long enough that you can firmly push it up with your thumb, but not long enough that it will accidentally trigger when turning the wheel or getting in or out.

The drag trigger is easy to install on a butterfly wheel and can be positioned easily for getting a consistent placement on the trigger. Simply mount to the side of the wheel and position however is comfortable for your hand. If you are running a D wheel, we recommend the Mounting Plate Add On that will allow you more flexibility for mounting to a traditional steering wheel.

We have found through our own experience with the Quickdraw Drag Trigger was both faster and more consistent that utilizing a traditional transbrake button. With a traditional transbrake button, Matt was typically .000 to .020 on the practice tree but it would vary inside of that window, .003 then .016 then .008. When moving to the Quickdraw drag trigger, Matt’s lights on the practice tree were now .000 to .010 and the ability to consistently repeat lights within a couple thousandths were repeatable.

We believe that with a traditional transbrake button, there are many factors that can effect the reaction time consistency. The position of your elbow, how hard you push down on the button, how hard you pull back from the button, all these things will have an effect on your reaction time, and if not done the exact same every time will cause your lights to vary more than they need to. With the Quickdraw Drag Trigger, you utilize a single finger muscle in your arm reducing the number of variables your body has to have the exact same every time. The only real variable we have seen is whether your hand is already tensed up and ready or if your hand is relaxed.
